True social impact does not begin with programs, funding, or institutions. It begins with people—individuals willing to be shaped by service, discipline, and responsibility over time. Sustainable change is authored by those who allow personal transformation to precede collective impact.
As in most Guinean cities, the success rate in Dalaba for passing the Bac and Brevet exams is generally below 50%. This fact reflects the lack of mastery of the curriculum and the necessary support students must have to carry out these studies.
Aissata Lamarana Bah, a co-founder and staff member of Jeune Espoir (JE), completed an internship at Digital Promise, a DC-based international organization, between April and July 2023 under IREX’s Community Engagement Exchange program (CEE).
At Jeune Espoir, we believe that young people should not have to leave their communities to build dignified, meaningful lives. The 2024–25 year reaffirmed this conviction. Despite economic uncertainty and infrastructure challenges, our team, partners, and learners made measurable progress across education, digital inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods in Dalaba and beyond.
